BHEL is accepting online applications for Artisan Grade-IV jobs in a range of trades, such as:
- Fitter
- Welder
- Turner
- Machinist
- Electrician
- Electronics Mechanic
- Foundryman
These vacancies are distributed across 11 BHEL units including Ranipet (TN), Visakhapatnam (AP), Bengaluru (Karnataka), Haridwar (UK), Bhopal (MP), Hyderabad (Telangana), and others.

- Fitter: 176 posts
- Welder: 97 posts
- Turner: 51 posts
- Machinist: 104 posts
- Electrician: 65 posts
- Electronics Mechanic: 18 posts
- Foundryman: 4 posts
Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD/Ex-Servicemen is applicable as per Government norms.
Educational Qualification:
Class 10th + ITI/National Trade Certificate (NTC) + National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC)
The minimal ITI and NAC scores are 55% for SC/ST and 60% for General/OBC.
Age Limit (as on 1st July 2025):
General/EWS: 27 years
OBC (NCL): 30 years
SC/ST: 32 years
Additional relaxations for PWD, Ex-Servicemen, and experienced candidates (up to 7 years)
Salary and Benefits:
Initially appointed as Temporary Employees for 1 year
Stipend: As per unit’s minimum wages
Pay ranges from ₹29,500 to ₹65,000 after regularization, including benefits.

Selection Process:
Stage 1 – Computer-Based Exam (CBE):
Objective test based on trade knowledge
Conducted in Hindi/English/Kannada/Tamil/Telugu (as per unit)
Stage 2 – Skill Test + Document Verification:
Qualifying in nature
Final merit based on CBE marks
Note: Top candidates from national apprentice skill competitions may be directly called for the Skill Test.
